Auditions

Auditions for RCT's REP Company are held each January. REP Company actors perform RCT's Main Stage Shows for the following year. On rare occasions when roles can not be filled through the REP Company, additional auditions will be held during the year. Audition notices are posted in local media and on RCT web site. Miminum age to audition is 16. When children are needed for roles, RCT casts students from RCT School of Musical Theatre.

Once A Year....Don't miss out!

Annual REP Company Auditions will be held  on SATURDAY JANUARY 12,2008 ages 16 through 65+, at the new Promenade Theatre, 650 N Coit, Richardson. REP Company is non equity. Some stipends are paid for specific shows depending on the role and type of show. Stipends are not paid for Large Musicals due to the sizes of the casts. (Children needed for shows will be cast through RCT School of Musical Theatre.) If you are looking for a theatre home, this is for you!
       Actors                                                         1:00-2:30PM
       * Bring a monologue, resume and headshot

       Singers/Dancers                                           2:30-5:00PM
       * Singers, bring a song....accompaniment provides, tracks welcome
       * Dancers, bring a routine
       * Bring a resume and headshot

CALLBACKS: Sunday, January 13
       * Singers/Dancers...come prepared to move..........2:00-3:30
       * Actors....cold readings.....................................3:45-5:30

REP COMPANY
Auditions are for RCT's REP Company.  Casting for all Main Stage shows is done through the REP Company. If you are not interested in being part of the REP please state so on your audition sheet. Director cast mostly from the REP. REP Actors are asked to 1) Donate an item to the annual fund raising auction, 2) purchase two tickets to the fund raiser, Broadway's Best III, 4) Purchase a $35 annual RCT Membership, 3) volunteer for work days and/or ushering when you are available. 2007 REP Actor must also audition.

WHAT IS THE REP?

       . The 2007 REP company has 50 members ages 16-65. The REP is a troupe of actors who are cast in our shows. Directors do the casting for each show. Casting is done based on the requirements of the role, ability, professionalism and director’s vision. EVERYONE in the REP will be asked to take at least one role per season. More offers depend on needs of future shows and your visibility. The more you are seen, the better your chances to be cast.

DO I HAVE TO TAKE EVERY PART OFFERED?

No, Conflicts arise. BUT we do ask that you make RCT a priority.  Large shows require large casts. If you continually turn down roles, we will stop calling. Since RCT’s two larger shows will be in June and July, if you are not available to perform this summer, please let us know.

IS THE REP FOR ME?

Sometimes no. If you 1) are not interested in being part of a troupe, 2) only take LEAD roles, 3) have too much on your plate, the REP is NOT for you. BUT, if you are a serious performer and want a great place to refine your craft ... this is for YOU!

STIPENDS FOR ACTORS

Stipends are paid on selected projects. As a rule, stipends are not paid for the large musicals due to the size of the casts. No equity contracts available.
