Repertory Company Theatre kicks off 2010-2011 Season with Shakespeare’s classic, A Midsummer Night’s
Dream but with at twist. “This play is set in India,”
states show’s director, Michelle Breedlove. “And I am planning choreography for
the Bollywood score.I think it adds a colorful, magical flavor to the show.” The
Bollywood numbers will be choreographed by guest choreographer, Caris Dunn.
A Midsummer Night’s Dream --- comic and fantastical --- is a
favorite of summer Shakespeare theatres across the country. "A
Midsummer Night’s Dream is the perfect way to start our new season,” says Debra
Carter, Artistic Director.
In this magical, far-eastern world, fairies dance their way across the jungle,
and elemental desires hold sway: love and jealousy, pride and hate. The warring
passions of Oberon and Titania, the King and Queen of the Fairies (Darin Fimple
and Laura Alley) have upset the natural balance of the world, and their jealous
games set into motion the mishaps of the play. The Star-Crossed Lovers will be played by Robin
Clayton, Brian Grunkowski, Jennifer McMillin and Chris Edwards.
